You might have heard the term ‘MLS’. This stands for Multiple Listing Service, and there are several throughout the country. The concept of an MLS is basically two sided. The first side concerns the real estate agents who are contracted to sell listing for a home seller. The agent attains the listing and inputs that listing into their MLS. So essentially, the MLS is a database filled with listings for sale where the seller has contracted the services of a real estate agent. OK, so the other side is YOU. You can view these listings on-line at your leisure. Realtor.com has every listing through every MLS throughout the country. MRED (Midwest Real Estate Data) is the name of the MLS covering Chicago and its outlying suburbs. Through our link, you’ll have access to any listing that’s listed by a real estate agent.
